What size is an XL bed vs an XXL bed?
Our extra large dog beds measure 105–120 cm or 42-48” while our XXL dog beds are 135cm or 54”. Which you choose for your large breed dog will depend largely on three things:
- Size of your dog
- How many dogs will be sharing the bed
- How your dog/s like to sleep
If, for example, your dog is a dog that likes to stretch out when they sleep, you might find that the XXL is a more appropriate choice while a dog that likes to curl up when they sleep will be fine with an XL. If you have two medium/large breeds that like to curl up together, rather than buying them individual beds , an extra large dog bed would be a more favourable selection.
Why extra large dogs need more support
Large dogs carry more weight and this has an impact on their joints. Many larger dogs can suffer with joint problems, especially as they age. In this scenario, they need the features of a luxury dog bed that can offer them more support. Which size and style you choose will depend on which you think is the most suitable for your dog’s requirements.
